McCann Carpentry
I’m Simon, the founder of McCann Carpentry. With a legacy rooted in the art of woodworking, my journey began alongside my father, Gerard McCann, a seasoned carpenter and cabinet maker. My training began at the tender age of seven, learning the trade from the very best.
Driven by a desire for hands-on work and a love for the outdoors, I pursued a career in mechanical engineering but soon realised that I couldn’t fulfil my passion for creation in that role. The allure of crafting, of shaping raw materials into something beautiful and functional, was simply too strong to resist.
My journey took me across the Atlantic, where I worked on projects in Canada, gaining valuable insights and honing my skills. It was in London that I founded "McCann Carpentry & Joinery," a venture that thrived for 11 fruitful years. However, as life often does, it led me back home, to the lush landscapes of Ireland, where my family and I planted our roots.
I also collaborated with Sliderobes, a renowned name in the industry, fitting wardrobes and units across Ireland. This experience, combined with my knowledge and expertise, laid the foundation for McCann Carpentry as it stands today.
